Climate

Shanghai has a humid subtropical climate. Winters are cool and damp (average low 4°C in January), while summers are hot and humid (average high 32°C in July). The plum rain season (meiyu) occurs in June–July, and typhoon season runs from August to October. Autumn is generally the most pleasant season.
